(The guard submitted the papers of mine and 03 other students in counter no. 06)

The VO was a young girl (‘girl’ because she is definitely not older than me and i am not that aged too) Bangladeshi sitting in counter no-06.

VO: Helloooo (a long one 😑)
ME: hello Ma’am, Good Morning.

VO: Good Morning. So which University are you going in?
ME: I am going in “Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena” under Faculty of Biology and Pharmacy.

VO: Which module interest you most in this university? (Not expected, did expect asking of the module names and all that)
ME: Industrial Microbiology.

VO: Why?
ME: During my undergrad studies, this is the only topic gain my most of the interest. People studying microbiology, interested more about doing research in future. But my interest always goes for industrial level. Introducing biological ways of life other than chemicals in the industries of our countries. And Jena came out with all these opportunities that i have ever dreamed of. It surrounded with so many biotechnological companies….. (Stopped by VO)

VO: Why do you want to study in Germany?
ME: There are so many reasons actually. One of the main reason that no student can denied is, No/Low Tuition Fees-
Unlike many other countries, no/a little tuition fees are charged for masters’ degrees at public and some private universities in Germany. Another reason is, Affordable Accommodation / Living cost: The cost of living, on average, is around 700-800€ including everything which is really affordable for a student who wants to study properly and don’t want to think about working besides study. And…. (Stopped again)

VO: Why did you choose jena for you master’s program?
ME: You jena university? (😑)
VO: Yes.
ME: Compared to other locations/universities providing microbiology studies in Germany, Jena can boast two unique selling points: (1) The great number of non-university research facilities and, (2) The great number of biotechnology companies conducting research in Jena, which surely a great opportunity for the students who want to study microbiology in Industrial level like me.

VO: Tell me something about Jena.
ME: Jena is really small and student friendly city in the middle of Germany and is situated in the federal state Thuringia which is often called the “Green Heart” of Germany. A youthful student life… (Stopped) 😑

VO: Where will you live in Germany?
ME: I booked a hotel near my university for 14 which can be rescheduled if I get a room in university dorm before leaving. And also in the short listed/ in waiting list for university dorm which will be distributed after 15 August.

VO: What is your plan after your masters?
ME: I will definitely go for PhD if i will get better opportunity. If not, i will come back, join my university from where i completed my bachelor as lecturer and will gain experiences in teaching for at least 2 years and then will apply for PhD again.

VO: When did you get your IELTS? (DATE) 😑
ME: (I mean seriously? IELTS date, not Score?) 13th January, 2018.
VO: Saw the IELTS paper and confirmed.

VO: Put your fingers in that order, 1. Right hand 4 fingers together (Other than thumb), 2. Left hand 4 fingers together (Other than thumb), 3. 2 thumbs together.
ME: Did. And received my original documents including passport.

VO: Please pay 7200.
ME: Paid and received the pay slip.

VO: Thank you so much, this is the end of your interview.
ME: (SHOCKED) Ma’am, I didn’t send the blocked amount yet.
VO: Okay, after sending the money leave the papers in the embassy’s gate.
ME: I didn’t received any missing documents list.
VO: Do you want any? 😑 If you want i can give you. ( Then printed out 2 copies of the missing documents and took my signature in one of them and give the other one. I am really disturbed with that incident. She supposed to check my all documents and should give the missing documents list all by own)

P.S: Didn’t ask any academic questions, not even about the SSC, HSC, BSc, CGPA, passing year, NOTHING. She was stucked between Jena and Germany and didn’t asked me about missing documents list. I was so pissed and shocked with that incident and already prepared my mind to get a REJECTION! Adding that, I couldn’t answer properly about the module question in the beginning but then answer again in a organized way. Other than that everything was fine during interview. (Without the missing documents part).

আলহামদুলিল্লাহ, ভিসা হাতে পেলাম। ঈদ সংক্রান্ত ব্যস্ততার কারনে এক্সপেরিয়েন্স শেয়ার করতে দেরি হয়ে গেলো। গ্রুপের সবার প্রতি অশেষ কৃতজ্ঞতা শুরু থেকে এই পর্যন্ত প্রতিটা স্টেপে হেল্প করার জন্য। এছাড়া কোনভাবেই সম্ভব ছিল না এতদূর আসা।
