IELTS নিয়ে কিছু কথাঃ যদি কারো কাজে লাগে (আমার ব্যক্তিগত অভিজ্ঞতা থেকে লিখা)
*কোচিংঃ কোচিং এর কোন প্রয়োজন আছে বলে আমি মনে করিনা যখন অনলাইনেই সব পাওয়া যায়। আপনার বেসিক যদি খুবই দুর্বল হয় সেক্ষেত্রে একটা গাইডলাইন এর দরকার পরে। কিন্তু যারা মাস্টার্সের জন্য এপ্লাই করবেন তাদের কোচিং দরকার নাই কারন আপনি অলরেডি চার বছর ইংলিশ মিডিয়ামে পরে আসছেন। আপনার শুধু এক্সাম প্যাটার্নটা জানা দরকার আর বেশি বেশি চর্চা!
* অনলাইন রিসোর্চঃ প্রস্তুতি নেয়ার শুরুতেই আমরা অনেকে অনেক বই, ওয়েবসাইট, ইউটিউব চ্যানেল এর বিশাল লিস্ট বানিয়ে ফেলি! এটা খুবই নরমাল একটা ব্যাপার। পরে হারিয়ে যাই নানা মুনির নানা মত শুনে! এক্সাম সম্পর্কে আইডিয়া নেয়ার জন্য নির্দিষ্ট কিছু ( http://ieltsliz.com/ ) ফলো করবেন। তারপর আপনি বিভিন্ন জায়গা থেকে প্রশ্নপত্র নিয়ে চর্চা করতে পারেন।

You will listen to four recordings of native English speakers and then write your answers to a series of questions.
- Recording 1 – a conversation between two people set in an everyday social context.

- Recording 3 – a conversation between up to four people set in an educational or training context, e.g. a university tutor and a student discussing an assignment.
- Recording 4 – a monologue on an academic subject, e.g. a university lecture.
In the end you will get 10 minutes to transfer your answers to an answer sheet.
READING

These include reading for gist, reading for main ideas, reading for detail, skimming, understanding logical argument and recognizing writers’ opinions, attitudes and purpose. They have been selected for a non-specialist audience but are appropriate for people entering university courses or seeking professional registration.

Topics are of general interest to, and suitable for, test takers entering undergraduate and postgraduate studies or seeking professional registration. There are two tasks:
- Task 1 – you will be presented with a graph, table, chart or diagram and asked to describe, summarize or explain the information in your own words. You may be asked to describe and explain data, describe the stages of a process, how something works or describe an object or event.
- Task 2 – you will be asked to write an essay in response to a point of view, argument or problem. Responses to both tasks must be in a formal style.
SPEAKING
Duration: 11-14 minutes

The speaking component assesses your use of spoken English. Every test is recorded.
- Part 1 – the examiner will ask you general questions about yourself and a range of familiar topics, such as home, family, work, studies and interests. This part lasts between four and five minutes.
- Part 2 – you will be given a card which asks you to talk about a particular topic. You will have one minute to prepare before speaking for up to two minutes. The examiner will then ask one or two questions on the same topic.
- Part 3 – you will be asked further questions about the topic in Part 2. These will give you the opportunity to discuss more abstract ideas and issues. This part of the test lasts between four and five minutes.

1. লিসেনিং এ ভাল করা আমার মতে সবথেকে সহজ। আগে থেকে ইংলিশ মুভি দেখার অভ্যাস থাকলে আপনার জন্য একটা বিশাল প্লাস পয়েন্ট। লিসেনিং এ রাতারাতি ভাল করার কোন সুযোগ নেই। বেশি করে ডকুমেন্টারি ফিল্ম দেখুন, ইউটিউবে লিসেনিং টেস্ট দিতে থাকুন। লিসেনিং টেস্ট এর উদাহরন হিসেবে এই ভিডিও টা দেখুনঃ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oD-DXveAvnY লিসেনিং টেস্ট এর সময় আপনাকে প্রত্যেকটা সেকশনের প্রশ্নগুলা পরার জন্য কিছু সময় দিবে, তখন কিওয়ার্ড গুলা খেয়াল করবেন, অডিও শোনার সময় এইটা আপনাকে সাহায্য করবে।
2. রিডিং এ অনেকেই আগে পুরো প্যাসেজ পড়েন এবং এক্ষেত্রে বেশীরভাগ সময় নষ্ট হয়। আমি সাজেস্ট করব আগে প্রশ্ন পড়ে তারপর প্যাসেজ পড়বেন এবং এক্ষেত্রেও কিওয়ার্ডগুলো খেয়াল করতে হবে। রিডিং এর ক্ষেত্রে চর্চার কোন বিকল্প নাই। দ্রুত পড়ার অভ্যাস এবং অগুরুত্বপূর্ণ অংশ শুধু চোখ বুলিয়ে পড়ার অভ্যাস তৈরি করতে হবে।
3. রাইটিং এ আর কি বলব ভাই। আমি নিজেই ধরা খাইছি। আমার মতে এইটাই সব থেকে কঠিন। স্ট্রাকচার ঠিক রেখে লিখতে হবে আর যত বেশি সম্ভব পেরাফ্রেযিং করতে হবে, মানে সিনোনিম ব্যবহার করতে হবে। ওয়ার্ড কাউন্ট ঠিক রেখে লিখতে হবে। কোনভাবেই কম লিখা যাবেনা। ওয়ার্ড কাউন্ট এর জন্য একটা কাজ করবেন, এক লাইন লিখে দেখে নিবেন কয়টা ওয়ার্ড হয়, তারপর ওইটার উপর ভিত্তি করে পড়ে জাস্ট লাইন গুনবেন। ( যেমন আমার এক লাইনে ৭-৮ টা ওয়ার্ড থাকে, তারমানে ১৫০ ওয়ার্ড এর জন্য আমার কমপক্ষে ২০ টা লাইন লিখতে হবে, এতে করে ওয়ার্ড কাউন্টে আপনার সময় নষ্ট হবেনা) সেকশন-১ এ কোনভাবেই ২০ মিনিট এর বেশি নেয়া যাবেনা। সেকশন-২ এর ক্ষেত্রে ৩-৪ মিনিট ধরে শুধু আপনার আইডিয়া সাজাবেন এবং খেয়াল রাখবেন যাতে Introduction, Main Idea, Supporting Idea, Example/Comparison, Conclusion কোনটা মিস না হয়।
4. স্পিকিং এ আপনাকে যত বেশি সম্ভব নরমাল থাকার ট্রাই করতে হবে। ২-৩ টা প্রশ্নের উত্তর দেয়ার পড়ে জড়তা কেটে যাবে। হাসিমুখে কথা বলা এবং আই কনটাক্ট ধরে রাখা খুব গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। কিউ কার্ডের ক্ষেত্রে এক মিনিট সময় পাবেন আপনার কথা গুছিয়ে নেয়ার, মেইন পয়েন্টগুলা খাতায় লিখে ফেলবেন। এই ক্ষেত্রে এক্সামিনার থামানোর আগে কথা বলতেই থাকবেন, অন্ততপক্ষে ট্রাই করবেন। কথা বলার নির্দিষ্ট কিছু প্যাটার্ন বানিয়ে ফেলবেন চর্চা করে। ইউটিউবে স্পিকিং এক্সাম এর ভিডিও দেখবেন, তাইলে বুজতে পারবেন পরিবেশটা কেমন হবে। যেমন এই ভিডিওটাঃ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HjrlnyFKVKU
