ফার্মাসি নিয়ে জার্মানিতে উচ্চশিক্ষা তথা মাস্টার্স করতে চাইলে এই পোস্টটি আপনার জন্য!

Few weeks ago, a first year pharmacy student from Bangladesh knocked me to know about the masters procedure in Germany.

I was so deeply impressed by his quest to learn, and realized there are a lot of talented students who would do great with pieces of information who have already been through admission process.

In this article, I will try to completely summarize the process by which pharmacy student can apply for masters.

However, I wont mention any university name since I want them to find it on their own.

What are the requirements for applying for masters (Life science subjects) in Germany?

  1. You must have a bachelor degree or expect to finish bachelor by the time master program starts.
  2. IELTS, yes its a must. please do not think of using medium of instruction .
  3. CGPA?- You cant change it. So you have to fight with whatever you have.

Step 1: Finding the right subject and university.
This is the major and most important step for a student from pharmacy background.

Pharmacy courses are diverse in our countries, which has literally everything ranging from biochemistry to management. its like “jack of all trades, master of none.”
One can apply for courses such as:
Biochemistry,  Chemistry, Life science Informatics, Biotechnology,Bio-medicine, Neuroscience, Nano science, Public Health, Microbiology, molecular medicine, toxicology.

in case you do not know, no you cannot have a M.Pharm Degree in Germany.

But the most important thing here is to first check the course modules of masters program and see the courses that are most relevant to the bachelor program.

Is there anything else to consider?

Yes, the size of the city and international look of the city.

Unless you speak Fluent Deutsche you should very carefully decide your city.

Any big city such as Munich, Berlin, Cologne, hamburg, Dusseldorf ,Stuttgart, Leipzig should always be the target since they are multi-cultural and offers vibrant life style unlike the smaller cities.

Then there is a new dimension nowadays as well

Tuition fee

its my personal suggestion not to choose an university with tuition fee even though its nothing compared to other countries and similar to the expense of private universities in Bangladesh.

But when 90 percent of the universities are tuition fee free, then why pay?

Step 2 : Creating a Perfect Letter of Motivation and CV

Once you have zeroed in to a subject, the next step is to apply for it.

To apply you will need a very good letter of motivation.

Few things to consider when writing the letter of motivation-

  1. What made you curious towards the desired program?.
  2. How has the bachelor program prepared  you for this course particuarly?.
  3.  Try to summarize the research experience and put up your potential future research interests.
  4. Future goals.

IF You are applying to various programs, then for each program you have to write a letter of motivation which is specific to that program. Never write something generic, it never helps.

The next step is to Create a CV.

Create a simple CV not a bio-data.

STEP 3 : Sending Documents

Once you are done with the application process, majority of the programs will require you to send the documents after notarizing them.

unless there are special instruction from the university about notarization, do normal notarization and send the documents and then wait for admission decision.

Step 4: Admission granted

Once you are granted admission and receive an offer letter.

The first thing is to open a block account and  transfer the money.

Then do the travel insurance .
